Abdelmounam Sherik is currently with Saudi Aramco as a Research Science Consultant with specialty in corrosion. Dr. Sherik established and advanced pipelines corrosion research in areas such as black powder, external corrosion, modeling & prediction of hydrogen induced cracking, and sulfur solubility and deposition in gas lines. Prior to joining Saudi Aramco, he was a Senior Metallurgical Engineer with ArcelorMittal Dofasco in Canada and a Research Scientist with the National Research Council of Canada. Abdelmounam is active in many organizations such as NACE, SPE and ASME and has served on technical committees and chairperson in several international conferences.


Dr Ji was graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China and worked there asan Associated Professor to 1997. Then he moved to Helsinki University of Technology, Finland as anacademic visitor. He started his research work at Brunel University, UK, in 1999 and worked in industrybefore he returned to Brunel University as an academic in 2011. Dr Ji has worked on aluminium alloys,magnesium alloys and cast irons. He has developed himself from solidification and microstructuralevolution during casting; and solid phase transformation during heat treatment, to the materialscharacterisation during processing.

Dr. Chen obtained his doctorate degree (Ph.D) in Corrosion Science and Protection fromInstitute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, P.R. China. At present, Dr. Chenworks as a Research Scientist in Western University, Canada. The research areas for Dr. JianChen cover the chemical/electrochemical corrosion and stress corrosion cracking (SCC)behaviors and mechanisms of metals, presently focusing on magnesium alloys and copper, underthin-layer water film conditions or in bulk solutions to solve various industrial/academic andenvironmental contamination problems by a combination of experimental and modelingapproaches. Dr. Chen has published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal papers.


Dr. Bo Zhang received his B.D. in physics from the Nanchang University, his M.D. in corrosion science and protection from Institute of Metal Research (IMR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and his Ph.D. in metallurgy and materials from the University of Birmingham, UK. He is currently an associate Professor in IMR. Dr. Zhang has a total of more than 30 research papers published in Corrosion Science, Electrochimica Acta and Journal of the Electrochemical Society, etc. His research expertise is in the localized corrosion and environment-induced cracking of Al alloys, stainless steels and high strength steels.


Fantao Kong serves as a Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology, China. He received his B.Eng. and M. Eng. degrees in chemical engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, in 1994 and 2000, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2003. From 2009 to 2010, he worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. His research interests include precision hot forming of Titanium alloy and TiAl intermetallics, control of solidification microstructure and casting, metal matrix composite, and powder metallurgy.He has published more than 130 technical papers, including over 100 journal publications.
